Metal Ready
|
After thoroughly cleaning & degreasing the piece you are working on & the surface is rinsed & bone dry, apply environmentally safe Metal Ready evenly (use a green scotch brite pad to distribute the solution so there are no puddles or drips). Do not apply to hot steel or on surfaces in full sun, or in an environment where the product could evaporate before it has time to do its job. For dissolving rust, the longer the Metal Ready is on, in a wet or sticky stage, the more rust it will dissolve. Metal Ready must be rinsed with water & completely dry before proceeding to any coating. A white chalk will form sporadically on the metal as it dries. This is the Zinc Phosphate that allows the water neutralize without developing a flash rust. This adds extra rust protection, & promotes adhesion for any paints.

Metal Ready provides the best adhesion on any metal surface, including aluminum & shiny polished metal surfaces & it dissolves rust. The simple one-step process gently eats away the rust & etches the metal, creating an ideal anchor pattern for coatings such as POR-15, while simultaneously leaving a zinc phosphate film to promote chemical bonding of paint & steel. Avoid rust conversion products which may leave harmful residues that prevent proper adhesion of POR-15 or other coatings.
